With registration complete, the Senior Games are no longer a distant possibility. The competition date is now marked on my calendar, giving me a clear destination and a new rhythm. The next steps begin at the pool table. Signing up was an important decision, but it was only the opening shot. Preparation is where the work—and much of the enjoyment—will take shape.

My first practice was a chance for me to return to familiar routines while looking at them with fresh purpose. I can pay attention to stance, alignment, speed control, and the choices made before each shot. Small adjustments may matter more than dramatic changes. I have found a thoughtful practice plan also makes it easier to balance improvement with the pleasure of playing.

The National Senior Games provides me with a reason to prepare with care, meet fellow competitors, and test my game in a new setting. There is still plenty to learn before competition day, and that is part of the appeal. For now, the calendar offers a destination, the cue is ready, and each practice is a practical step toward arriving prepared, engaged, and glad to be playing.

The Senior Games are often remembered for medals and final standings, but their meaning extends well beyond the scoreboard. They offer a welcoming setting in which adults can celebrate participation, perseverance, and the simple enjoyment of sport.

The billiards games will be played at Magoo’s Sports Bar & Billiards, at 5002 S. Memorial Dr., Tulsa, OK 74145, will host the billiards competition. The venue is approximately 15 minutes southeast of downtown Tulsa and the athlete village at the Arvest Convention Center, offering competitors and visitors a straightforward trip between the event’s central gathering area and the tournament site. Its location places the competition within reach of Tulsa’s broader visitor amenities while providing a dedicated setting for billiards play.

The venue has 30 Diamond Sardos tables in both seven- and nine-foot sizes. This range supports competition on different table dimensions and gives players, organizers, and spectators a substantial billiards facility.
